I've been trying to use dried chick peas these days, instead of canned ones. Less environmental foolishness, and cheaper, and easier to carry home. But the problem is remembering to do it!
Then I discovered that you can freeze them perfectly--they dethaw with no change to their physical properties. So now I make a lot, and then freeze 1 cup per baggie.
