I was watching a short news piece last week on how some Chinese in Canada are starting to fight back on the whole Tibet thing--they were accusing CTV of a pro-Tibet bias, so CTV was interviewing them etc. And I thought: Well alright, I'm willing to listen to anyone's side on anything.
But holy crap, did you see this story in New York Times? Two groups of students at Duke University were facing off recently, with their respective pro-Tibet pro-China demonstrations; and a girl with friends on both sides tried to mediate between them and get them to talk. The next day someone on the net called her a traitor and posted her personal information and her parents' address in China. It's gone like wildfire around Chinese boards. Her parents have gone into hiding, and people have written the most horrible threats against her.
Nice.
