"Starting Jan. 1, the pharmaceutical industry has agreed to a voluntary moratorium on the kind of branded goodies — Viagra pens, Zoloft soap dispensers, Lipitor mugs — that were meant to foster good will and, some would say, encourage doctors to prescribe more of the drugs."(from New York Times article)I'm in for the moratorium, even if these things aren't on the same level as the big money the pharms give to doctors--the fancy trips to tropical islands in order to watch an Education Presenation, for example. And I'm in, even if many doctors scoff at the idea that these pens influence them. Let's at least preserve some sort of veneer of impartiality.
