The husband and I like to buy these flat square pizza crusts from Maxi, cause they cook in 5 minutes, and fit nice on the baking pan. In the past we would put tomato paste and fake meat on them, but I don't like Yves fake ground beef very much (prefer Sol, but can't get it often.) So I wanted something new.
I bought the tomato crusts, then handed Fernando the following ingredients to make quickee pizzas (while I made the fake cheese):
tomato paste
* then spread on fake cheese at this point, it will be easier
sprinkled garlic powder on
sprinkled Italian seasoning on
fake Yves pepperoni
onion
parsley
[obviously you could put anything]
Then we cooked them 5 minutes.
Then I folded them over, cut each in half, and wrapped them up ready to take to school, or to grab out of the fridge. Yay! Another success.
THE CHEESE:
Many of the cheese recipes in the Stepaniak book are similar, with variations. This is not much diff from the quesadilla cheese I used. Both are easy to make if you have a blender, and all the ingredients. But she also has some quicker sauces I haven't tried, as well as a make-ahead powder, which you can then just add liquid to, which I need to try as well.
I'm halving the amount, because we had too much.
3/4 cup water
1/8 c nutrl yeast
1/8 c flour
1 TB sesame tahini
1 TB arrowroot (or cornstarch)
1 ts fresh lemon juice
1/2 ts onion powder
1/2 ts salt
1/8 ts garlic powder
* Blender it all. Put in saucepan and whisk til thick. My cat Sherry loved it.
