Recipe: Sweet flat bread

During Succoth Jews & Sabbatarians don't eat leavening in their food. I used to be in a Sabbatarian church, and this is the homemade flat bread we made instead of eating matzohs!

You can make it without sugar, for sandwiches; or sweet, as a snack.

FLAT BREAD
4 c flour
1 c sugar or honey (can put less, just try the dough)
1.5 tsp salt
3 TBsp margarine
7/8 c soy milk or water

Mix it all up. Push it around on a baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 min at 400 degrees.

You've saved me! It's frozen solid outside and so I can't get anywhere and those ingredients are pretty much all I have. =)

I just found this post through a google search for flat bread recipes, and this is delicious! And easy enough to make that even I didn't ruin it! Thanks for sharing!

Hm maybe I'd better add it to a recipe site!

hey
i love your recipe and was wondering whether it's possible to use normal milk instead of soy milk?

Yes the original recipe would have been with normal milk.

If one were to use honey, would we still use a whole cup?

Hm, I'm not sure. My stepmother used to make it with honey and I think I copied the recipe exactly. So I would think it would work.
